Cow (come closer) consists of hundreds of smaller and larger ceramic pieces that can be assembled in infinitely many ways. Each iteration can therefore be unique and site-specific. The many earthen slopes and platforms at Werk aan het Spoel allowed the work to engage with its surroundings and explore spatial composition in a way that would never have been possible in an indoor exhibition space.
By day, the motion of the fire in the wind contrasts the stillness of the stone. At night, the flames decide what we can and cannot see. Some lines and textures are emphasized, while others gradually fade away into the dark.
